PGMA and CABINET MEETING in BOHOL |

Loboc, Bohol – President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo and her cabinet members were here in our province particularly in the town of Loboc last Tuesday, November 10, 2009. Upon arrival of the town, the President was welcomed by the local officials, employees, the Loboc Youth Ambassador Band and the people of Loboc led by Mayor Leon A. Calipusan. President Arroyo led the unveiling of the marker and ribbon cutting of the P4.7 million Loboc Multi-Purpose Landing. This is located at the Loboc Tourism Complex particularly at the docking port. After the activity, the President was interviewed by the local media at the Tourism Center regarding disaster preparedness and the on-going relief operation. Afterwards, President Arroyo and her cabinet had their meeting at the Loboc Children’s Palace. Department of Agriculture Secretary Arthur Yap led the opening prayer with the special performance of the Loboc Children’s Choir. Provincial officials, mayors, vice mayors and local officials of different municipalities flocked to the town to honor the President. After the meeting, the President briefly graced the oath taking of Agriculture Secretary Arthur Yap as member of the Lakas-Kampi-CMD Party, who was also celebrating his 44th birthday. The said gathering was held at Joventino A. Digal Complex and was again attended by the officials who were at the Tourism Complex, the Loboc barangay captains and its officials, the Liga ng mga Barangays of the province and the big crowd of Lobocanons. Environmental MOA Signing in Loboc |
Gov. Erico B. Aumentado of Bohol, Regina "Gina" Paz Lopez, the Managing Director of the ABS-CBN Foundation, Inc. and DENR Secretary Jose "Lito" Atienza Jr. signed a Memorandum of Agreement to rehabilitate and protect the Abatan and Loboc Watersheds on August 14, 2009 at the Loboc Tourism Complex.
Ms. Lopez delivered the Statement of Commitment while Secretary Atienza gave a message during the ceremony. It was attended by Project Manager Valerio Mendoza of the Save the La Mesa Watershed Project, Congressman Edgar Chatto, DENR Regional Executive Director Leonardo R. Sibaluca, Vice Gov. Julius Caesar Herrera, the Mayors and Vice Mayors of the municipalities that cover the two watersheds, provincial government personalities, NGO's, among others.

PSO-HNS MID-YEAR CONVENTION |

April 25, 2009, fellows of Philippine Society of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery (PSO-HNS), Inc. had their fellowship night at the Loboc Tourism Complex - Floating Restaurants and Hanging Garden (then jumbo bridge), together with their families. This was in time with their annual mid-year convention from April 23-25, 2009 in Tagbilaran City. Fellows from all over the country attended the affair.
In Loboc, half of the group had dinner on board the floating restaurant during the river cruising and the other half had dinner at the Hanging Garden while being entertained by The Loboc Children's Choir and the LobocYouth Ambassador Band. While the group exchange venues, the choir and the band performed for the second time for those who did the cruising first. At 9:30 P.M., there was fireworks witnessed not only by the doctors and their families but also by the Lobocanons, who had, during that time, an amateur hour singing contest sponsored by the Local Government Unit of Loboc for the forthcoming fiesta of Our Lady of Guadalupe on the 24th of May. The convention was organized by Central - Eastern Visayas Chapter headed by Dr. Eduardo Arcenas of Cebu and Overall Coordinator Dr. Mervin Louis C. Varona. Write Comment (0 comments) |

Tourism Week Celebration September 22-27, 2008 is Tourism Week with the theme: Tourism Responding to the Challenge of Climate Change. In line with this celebration, the town marked the 27th of this month as the special day to commemorate this event. The occasion was graced by Sangguniang Panlalawigan Member Hon. Ester Corazon J.
