Fiesta sa Mahal nga Birhen sa Guadalupe (May 24) This is celebrated with gaiety starting May 15 through nightly presentations from the different religious and civic organizations. A fluvial parade is also held at the famous Loboc River, known as the Sambat on May 23. Fiesta ni San Pedro (June 29) – This feast is associated with gluttonous dining and the accompanying vivacity. Not to be outwitted in terms of jubilation, it has nightly presentations too. Suroy sa Musikero (December 25 to February 2) This is a revelry where the town musicians cover daily the assigned areas to partake of the food served by the host and to play music to the tune of “Kuradang”, “Dalaga sa Baybayon” etc. This is also the period where carolers render Christmas songs to the families of the host area. Hugos Hugos Literally means “to hang” is the re-enactment of the meeting of Mary and Jesus at the dawn of eastern Sunday and the coming dawn of the Angel Gabriel, memorialized through chants and songs. A tiple, a boy of about 10 years old, garbed in beautiful angel’s garment will be tied on the waist to be brought down from the inside the hugusan while singing Regina Coeli. A delightful musical performance of antiphonal singing between the angels and the congregation follows.
